Former head coach of the Russian national team Valery Polkhovsky expressed the opinion that Russian and Belarusian biathletes are not stewing in their own juice in conditions of exclusion from international competitions.
After six races at the stages of the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Cup, Russian Eduard Latypov takes first place with 642 points, followed by Belarusians Anton Smolsky (605) and Dmitry Lazovsky (584).
— In the general classification, Lazovsky and Anton Smolsky now occupy third and second place respectively. Smolsky, however, is so high thanks to three victories at the first stage in September in Sochi, where the athletes competed on roller skis.
— In fact, it is very important that Russian and Belarusian biathletes do not stew in their own juice, but compete and encourage each other. This gives extra motivation.
