Training bases for Russian biathlon, cycling and speed skating teams will begin to be built in the Sverdlovsk region in 2024

Funds for the construction of training centers for the Russian national biathlon, cycling and speed skating teams are included in the budget of the Sverdlovsk region in 2024, and the construction of these facilities will begin in the same year, a said Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Sverdlovsk Region Leonid Rapoport told .

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the creation of training centers for the Russian national biathlon, cycling and speed skating teams, as well as an industrial and sports hub in the Sverdlovsk region.

— It is planned to create industrial and sports centers throughout the country, with the first such centers expected to appear in the Sverdlovsk region and Tatarstan. As for training bases for biathlon, cycling and speed skating, funds for their construction in the Sverdlovsk region have already been included in the (regional) budget for 2024. That is, we plan to start construction next year. Now the projects and technical specifications of these objects are ready,” Rapoport told .
