Governor of the Sverdlovsk region Evgeny Kuyvashev told that the region has all the conditions to cope with the task of creating training centers for the preparation of Russian national teams.
Russian President Vladimir Putin previously instructed the government to consider the creation of industrial and sports centers in the Sverdlovsk region by 2025-2030. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and the governor of the Sverdlovsk region were named responsible.
“I thank the president for supporting our initiative.” The Sverdlovsk region is a region where sports are very popular. We already have more than 2 million residents of the Urals who regularly practice sports or physical exercises. We are making great efforts to ensure that quality sports infrastructures appear throughout the region, both for professionals and amateurs. We have everything to cope with the task of creating training centers for the preparation of Russian national teams in biathlon, cycling and speed skating.
Design and estimation documentation has already been developed for two centers. Currently, work on the creation of a training center for biathletes has already been included in the 2024 budget, and an economic efficiency assessment has been prepared for the cycling training center. There are terms of reference for the development of documentation for the construction of a speed skating training center,” Evgeny Kuyvashev told .
