Mandzin will replace Lesyuk in the Ukrainian biathlon team for the World Cup in Oberhof

Tishchenko and Nasyko are competing for the vacant fifth place

Included Ukrainian men’s team before the fourth stage Biathlon World Cup 2023/24 changes will happen. The head coach of the team announced this Juraj Sanitra.

So, according to the coach, the debut call this season will be Vitaly Mandzin. The 20-year-old biathlete will replace Taras Lesyuk, who will take his place in the Ukrainian team for the IBU Cup. Remain in the application Dmitry Pidruchny, Artem Prima And Anton Dudchenko.

The fifth place in the national team’s application remains vacant. Artem Tishchenko and Denis Nasyko will compete for him at the Ukrainian Biathlon Championship, taking place these days in the Lviv region.

Sanitra announced the continuation of rotation in the national team for the following stages of the World Cup:

“In Oberhof we will run the relay with the strongest team, and then I will do a rotation [на следующие этапы] with the IBU Cup. I will look at the condition of the athletes at this moment, what could be done for the European Championship, where there will be representatives of team A and team B. In Ruhpolding and Antholz there will be enough opportunities to show themselves as best as possible.”

The fourth stage of the World Cup will be held in Oberhof, Germany, from January 4 to 7, 2024. It will feature two individual races – sprints and pursuits, as well as a classic relay.
