Olympic medalist Ivliev opened up about the injury that caused him to miss the Russian short track championship

Olympic silver medalist in short track speed skating Konstantin Ivliev told that doctors gave a good prognosis for his recovery from a leg injury.

Ivliev is hospitalized in Moscow and missed the Russian all-around championship which ended in Kolomna.

— There was strength training. He miscalculated his strength a little and jerked his leg. We gave several injections. We hope that everything will go well,” said the athlete’s father, Alexei Ivliev, on the air of the program “Everyone for the match!”.

The athlete himself is optimistic after the doctors’ forecasts.

– How is my leg? It could have been better (smile). According to the doctors, everything should go smoothly,” Konstantin noted.

Ivliev won silver at the 2022 Beijing Games over a distance of 500m, and the 23-year-old also won the European Championship.
