Aldoshkin won the fifth gold medal of the Russian Championship in Irkutsk, setting a rink record over a distance of 10,000 m

Olympic silver medalist in speed skating Daniel Aldoshkine won the fifth gold medal of the Russian Championship in Irkutsk.

On the final day of competition, Aldoshkin won the 10,000 meters in 13 minutes 19.68 seconds. Aldoshkin set a skating record at the Baikal ice rink, previously the best feat belonged to Vladimir Semirunny (13:36.85).

Ruslan Zakharov (13:32.39), who won silver, also ran faster than the previous rink record. Daniil Naidenyshev took third place (13:41.92).

For Aldoshkin, the victory in the 10,000m was the fifth of this Russian championship. Previously, he won gold at distances of 1,500 m and 5,000 m, as well as in the team race and mass start.
