Speed ​​skater Fatkulina won the Czech Republic’s first medal after returning to sport

Olympic silver medalist in speed skating Olga Fatkoulina won the first medal of the Russian championship after returning to the ice.

Fatkulina took a break from her career after the 2022 Beijing Games due to the birth of her daughter. The speed skater returned to competitive training in the fall.

On Wednesday, the 33-year-old won bronze at the Russian Team Sprint Championship as part of the Chelyabinsk region team. The victory was won by the team from the Moscow region (1 minute 30.46 seconds), the team from the Nizhny Novgorod region came second (the gap was 1.27 seconds). Fatkulina’s team lost to the winners by 2.15 seconds.

The men’s team sprint was won by the team from the Chelyabinsk region (1.23.17), silver by the team from the Krasnoyarsk Territory (+0.34), bronze by the first team from St. Petersburg (+0.93).

The Russian Championship takes place in Irkutsk.
