On the territory of the base in the city of Zlatoust, work is underway to create a ski and biathlon complex capable of hosting the most prestigious events, the press service of Spartakiad 2024 reports.
The sports complex currently being created will bear the name of the double Olympic biathlon champion Svetlana Ichmouratova .
— The infrastructures and slopes are located on a unique natural topography and the mid-mountain conditions allow winter athletes to train all year round.
In February, the All-Russian Spartakiad biathlon tournament will take place on the territory of the complex. Competitions with the participation of the country’s strongest biathletes will open a new modern facility on the sports map of Russia! – says the press release.
The Spartakiad of Russia’s Strongest is scheduled for February 9-18, 2024.
Svetlana Ishmuratova is a double Olympic champion in 2006, a five-time world champion and a four-time European champion.
