Frenchmen Simon and Claude won the Christmas race, Jima and Pidruchny were fifth

The Ukrainian duo was fourth after the mass start, but lost one position

In Hanselkirchen, Germany, the traditional annual Christmas Race. French biathletes became its winners for the second year in a row Julia Simon And Fabien Claude.

Let us remind you that earlier Julia and Fabien took first place in the mass start. As a result, they managed to defend their leadership, beating the Norwegian tandem of Ingrid Tandrevold / Sturla Lægreid by almost a minute. “Bronze” went to representatives of Slovenia Polona Klemencic and Jakov Faka.

Ukrainian biathletes Yulia Dzhima and Dmitry Pidruchny took fifth place in the final standings. They were fourth after the mass start, but dropped one position after the pursuit race.

Last year, Jim’s duet with Anton Dudchenko took eighth place in the Christmas race.

Christmas race (aka – World Team Challenge) Ukrainian duets won twice in its 21-year history. In 2008, Andrei Derisemla and Oksana Khvostenko succeeded in this, and in 2014, Sergei Semenov and Valentina Semerenko.
