Biathlon: Ukraine turns heel in Christmas race

Yulia Dzhima and Dmitry Pidruchny did not qualify for the awards due to unsuccessful shooting.

On Thursday, December 28, the Christmas biathlon race was traditionally held at the Weltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen. This year, Ukraine is represented in the exhibition competitions by the duo of Yulia Jimi and Dmitry Pidruchny.

The Ukrainians started the race well and at the start of the mass they claimed the top 3, finishing fourth.

From this position Podruchny and Jima began the race of pursuit. However, they did not compete for awards. Our athletes failed by shooting, and they finished in fifth place.

And the gold of the Christmas race, like last year, was won by the French. The Norwegians finished second, and the Slovenians won bronze in the final meters, overtaking the German duo.
