President of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBR) Viktor Maygurov told that the decision that Belarusian athletes would not participate in the Spartakiad was made at the level of the Ministry of Sports, it is not the competence of the RBU.
The Spartakiad of the Strongest will take place in February, and biathlon competitions will be held in Zlatoust, Chelyabinsk region. Belarusian biathletes take part in the stages of the Russian Cup.
— Will the Belarusians participate in the Spartakiad?
– As far as I know, no. This is a decision at the level of the Ministry of Sports.
— Would you like them to participate?
— It’s not my skill at all, but I’m always for the highest competition. Perhaps in the future Belarusians will participate in all our tournaments.
— Have the Belarusians themselves spoken about their desire to go to Zlatoust?
