President of the St. Petersburg Speed ​​Skating Federation Nikolai Tretyakov told that short speed skater Anastasia Sereda fought for life for a month after being hospitalized in Ufa.

Sereda died on January 6 at the age of 21.

— We were in Ufa, (the athlete) had a fever, the doctor examined her and called an ambulance. We took her to the hospital, she fell into a coma. She stayed in the hospital for a month. Yesterday the team said goodbye to her and took her to Saransk, where the funeral will take place. We helped the parents and are now fundraising. The Skating Union (Russia), represented by Nikolai Alekseevich Gulyaev, helped her. We express our condolences to the family and friends. It’s a big tragedy, a 20-year-old girl died,” Tretyakov told .

Sereda played for the St. Petersburg team. Nikolai and Svetlana Tretyakov participated in its preparation within this team. Svetlana Tretyakova was the short track speed skater’s personal coach.

Anastasia Sereda was born on March 30, 2003. In 2022-2023 she won prizes in relay races at the stages of the Russian Cup.
