“The most interesting things start after the fourth stage” – Smolsky on his mass start victory at the Commonwealth Cup stage

Belarusian biathlete Anton Smolski summarized the results of the mass start of the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Cup stage in Raubichi.

Smolsky covered the distance in 33 minutes 40.2 seconds, making two errors. The second was the Russian Rustam Kayumov (+3.9 seconds; 0 misses), the leading trio was completed by another Russian biathlete Karim Khalili (+22.1; 0).

— Rustam (Kayumov) is handsome, well done, I’m happy for him that he succeeded. In some races he won, but things didn’t work out. It was a very cool fight. In the middle of the race I was a little lost, I was in the top ten, but thanks to the luck that my rivals gave me, I managed to win. All the fun starts after the fourth step. Under no circumstances should you give up after errors on the lines. You always have to fight until the last,” Smolsky said on .

On Sunday at 2:00 p.m. (Moscow time), a 12.5 km women’s mass start will take place in Raubichi.
