Petrenko will open the women’s relay at the 2023/24 Biathlon World Cup in Ruhpolding

In Oberhof, Elena Gorodnaya started instead of Irina

Senior coach Ukrainian women’s biathlon team Nikolay Zots announced the team composition for relay race at the fifth stage World Cup 2023/24 in German Ruhpolding.

The only change compared to the Oberhof race will be Irina Petrenko, which will run in the first stage. Let us remember that in the previous race the coaching staff included Elena Gorodnaya in the relay team. The remaining three stages remained unchanged.

Composition of the Ukrainian relay team: Irina Petrenko, Yulia Jima, Anastasia Merkushina, Kristina Dmitrenko.

Note that Petrenko, Merkushina and Dmitrenko will not compete in individual races in Ruhpolding. After the relay they will go to a mountain training camp in Antholz.

The Ukrainian team took eighth place in the relay at the fourth stage of the World Cup. The Ukrainians used ten extra rounds and ran one penalty loop.

The women’s relay at the stage in Ruhpolding will take place on January 10. Starts at 15:30. Later, at the fifth stage of the 2023/24 KM, women will run the sprint on January 12 and the pursuit on January 14.
