The Ukrainian women’s biathlon team showed the best results in relay races this season.
Ukraine successfully started the competition at the fifth stage of the World Cup in Ruhpolding, Germany. The girls who competed in the relay race were the first to enter the stage.
Our team is represented by the following composition: Irina Petrenko, Yulia Jima, Anastasia Merkushina and Kristina Dmitrenko.
According to the results of the first two stages, the “blue-yellows” are in the top three. However, Anastasia Merkushina’s mistakes, as well as the increased speed of her competitors, dropped the Ukrainians to sixth place. Kristina Dmitrenko, who finished the race, thanks to her accurate shooting, was able to lift our team into the top five.
The winners of the race were biathletes from France. Athletes from Sweden took second place, and the top three were completed by the German team.
