Three-time Alpine skiing world champion airlifted to hospital after fall at World Championships

Triple world champion in alpine skiing Alexis Penturault was seriously injured following a fall during the World Cup in Wengen (Switzerland), reports RMC Sport.

The race was immediately stopped and the 32-year-old Frenchman was taken to hospital by helicopter.

Penturault landed poorly during the jump and, according to preliminary data, injured his knee.

After the evacuation of Penturot, the competition continued despite a 30-minute break.

Pentyur is a three-time Olympic medalist and 2020/21 World Cup winner.
