Biathlete of the Tyumen region team Alexander Loginov told that the team race is an interesting experience and can take place more than once per season, but not all regions are able to find four stable athletes.
On Friday, biathletes from Tyumen took second place in the team race at the Russian Championships in Tchaikovsky, behind the first team from Belarus. Representatives of Belarus also came in third place. Since the Belarusian team participated in competitions outside the general classification, the gold of the Russian championship was won by the Tyumen team (Alexander Povarnitsyn, Vadim Istangulov, Alexander Loginov, Evgeniy Garanichev). The KhMAO team will receive silver, and the Krasnoyarsk team will receive bronze.
— For the first time in my career, I ran such a discipline. If everything were easy, it wouldn’t be biathlon. Today there were some difficulties. In addition, the weather conditions were quite difficult: we felt some discomfort, but it was an interesting experience.
— Is it necessary to do it more than once per season?
– Why not? It’s just difficult to recruit four stable and strong athletes in the regions. If we look at the women’s teams, two teams clearly stand out; the men’s team is probably the same. We need to think about how to ensure that there are more fights,” Loginov told .
On January 14, at the Russian Championships in Tchaikovsky, there will be large mass starts for women and men.
