The three-time alpine skiing world champion ended his season prematurely due to a serious fall.

Triple world champion in alpine skiing Alexis Penturault seriously injured his knee following a fall during the World Cup in Wengen (Switzerland), reports the press service of the French Ski Federation.

He was taken by helicopter to Interlaken hospital, where examination revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

He will be sent to France for further examination and will undergo surgery. The season is over for the 32-year-old athlete.

Pentyur is a three-time Olympic medalist and 2020/21 World Cup winner.
