Italian Lisa Vittozzi became the winner of the pursuit race at the fifth stage of the Biathlon World Cup, which takes place in Ruhpolding (Germany).
Vittozzi took a penalty on four stages of shooting and clocked 30 minutes and 30.7 seconds. The Norwegians took second and third places Ingrid Tandrevold (1 failure; lag – 0.7 seconds) and Arnekleive University (0; +9.1).
In the general standings of the World Cup, Tandrevold is in the lead (666 points), Frenchwoman Justine Brezat-Boucher is second (657), Vittozzi (606) is third.
Later on Sunday, the men’s pursuit will take place in Ruhpolding.
