“You can be patient two or three times a season” – Latypov on organizing individual races at the Russian Cup

Triple Olympic medalist Edward Latypov believes that the individual race is a classic of biathlon, but that it should not take place often.

Latypov took third place in the individual race of the fourth stage of the Alfa-Bank Russian Cup in Izhevsk on Thursday. The men’s 20 km race took place for the first time this season.

— Is the individual race an outdated format or an essential classic?

“I think it’s a classic that you can’t refuse.” Two or three races per season is normal. If there were more, it would be difficult, but it would be completely normal.

— Do you like this format?

– It’s a difficult race. If the weather is not very good, it is even more difficult. Well, you can be patient.

— Did you endure it today?

– Yes. The condition is serious,” Latypov told .
