Irina Petrenko finished 23rd
Frenchwoman Julia Simon won women’s mass start at the sixth stage Biathlon World Cup 2023/24 in Antholz, Italy.
Simon made one miss on four shooting ranges. Julia was ahead of her closest pursuer, compatriot Lou Jeanmonnot, by 8.9 seconds. The third place was taken by the representative of Switzerland Lena Hecky-Gross.
Two Ukrainian representatives finished in the top 15. On the last lap, Yulia Dzhima overtook Anastasia Merkushina and became 13th. Merkushina finished the race 15th. Another Ukrainian, Irina Petrenko, ran two penalty loops and finished 23rd.
Next week (January 24-28) the European Biathlon Championships will be held in Brezno-Osrbli.
