41-year-old Tambovtseva ended her career in 2014. As a girl, she performed under the name Skulkin. The athlete participated in the 2002, 2006 and 2010 Olympic Games.
After completing her career, Tambovtseva was part of the coaching staff of the Russian bobsleigh team, and then headed the Bryansk Region Bobsleigh Federation.
