Elena Gorodnaya and Kipyachenkova failed to show good results
Two Ukrainians managed to finish in the top 30 of the women’s individual race on the first day European Championship 2024 By biathlon in Slovak Brezno-Osrbli.
The best result from the representatives of our country was shown by Alexandra Merkushinawho made only one mistake during the distance – 18th place. Anna Krivonos finished in 26th position.
Two more biathletes from Ukraine, Elena Gorodnaya And Lyubov Kipyachenkovafinished well outside the top 40.
Maren Kirkade from Norway won the first individual gold medal in her career at the European Championships. Alina Stremous (Moldova) and Emma Kapustova (Czech Republic) shared the podium with her – the three medalists did not make a single mistake.
Let us remind you that the Ukrainian women’s team started today with a weakened squad. Kristina Dmitrenko, Anastasia Merkushina and Irina Petrenko were unable to arrive in Brezno-Osrbli from Antholz, Italy, on time.
EURO 2024 started today with the men’s individual race. The best of the Ukrainians, Anton Dudchenko, showed the 12th result. Vitaly Mandzyn took 16th place.
