Shiffrin, a two-time Olympic champion, was taken by helicopter to hospital after a fall during the Alpine Skiing World Cup.

Double Olympic champion Mikaela Shiffrin fell while descending during performances at the Alpine Skiing World Cup in Cortina d’Ampezzo (Italy), reports Ski Chrono.

The American athlete was not able to get up immediately, but after first aid she barely left the track.

After that, the 28-year-old skier was sent to hospital by helicopter.

Shiffrin is a two-time Olympic champion, seven-time world champion, five-time World Cup winner and the leader in the number of Alpine skiing World Cup victories in history.
