Biathlete Kuzmina took 59th place in the first race after a five-year break

Triple Olympic biathlon champion Slovakia Anastasia Kuzmina took 59th place in the sprint race at the European Championships in Brezno-Osrbli (Slovakia).

For Kuzmina, this is the first start since the 2018/19 season, when she announced her retirement. The 39-year-old biathlete made three errors on two shooting ranges and lost 2 minutes 23.8 seconds to Norwegian winner Ida Lien.

Russian Daria Virolainen representing Finland, obtained the 74th result.

Kuzmina won gold in the sprint at the Games in Vancouver and Sochi, and also won the mass start in Pyeongchang.
