The coach of the Tyumen region team explained why his biathletes did not miss the stage from the Kyrgyz Republic to Izhevsk for the Spartakiad

Coach of the Tyumen biathlon team Maxim Kougaevsky told that there was no point in sacrificing the Russian Cup stage in Izhevsk to prepare for the Spartakiad of the Strongest in Zlatoust, because there is a lot of time between competitions.

The stage of the Russian Cup in Izhevsk ended on January 21. Daniil Serohvostov, Karim Khalili, Kristina Reztsova and other biathletes did not compete there.

— Not all biathletes were in Izhevsk, because instead of the Russian Cup stage, they chose to prepare for the Spartakiad. Did your team have similar ideas?

— No, there is a lot of time between Izhevsk and Spartakiad. Why was it missed? I don’t see the point of that. There is plenty of time to prepare.

— Have all the organizational problems in Zlatoust been resolved?

— Yes, the athletes will live in one place, the coaches in another, but I don’t see a problem with that. We will be in Zlatoust, that is to say in the city and next to the stadium, and the athletes will be in Miass. They have a long way to go. Apparently, there are no conditions for receiving so many people at once.

— Is Zlatoust a normal choice for Spartakiad?

— I think it would be more interesting to run in Sochi on the Olympic tracks. But it doesn’t matter, we are opening new places, ”Kugaevsky told .

Biathlon races will take place in Zlatoust (Chelyabinsk region) from February 10 to 18 as part of the Winter Spartakiad of the Strongest. Watch live broadcasts of the competition on Match Group TV channels, as well as on the matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru websites.
