Zakharov and Sayutina lead the classic all-around after the first day of the Chechen Championship

Olympic short track speed skating champion and 2022 Games silver medalist in speed skating Ruslan Zakharov leads the Russian Classic All-Around Championship after the first day of competition in Kemerovo.

Zakharov won the 5000m (6.35.74) and finished 11th in the 500m (38.15), scoring a total of 77.724 points. The second in total points is Pavel Taran – 78.591 (second in 500 m – 37.40; third in 5000 m – 6.51.91). Third place is taken by Daniil Naidenyshev – 79.255 (third in 5000 m – 6.44.15; 17th in 500 m – 38.84). Dmitry Zykin won the 500m (37.11), Evgeny Zharov took third place (37.42).

Among women, after the first day of competition, Alexandra Sayutina is in the lead with 83.225 points, she won the 500 m (39.98) and came second in the 3000 m (4:19.47). The second place is taken by Ekaterina Kosheleva (83.248), she showed the second result in 500 m (39.99), third in 3000 m (4.19.55). In third position is Anastasia Grigorieva (84.750): eighth in the 500 m (41.53) and best result in the 3000 m (4.19.32).

The competition ends on January 28. The men will run 1,500 and 10,000 m, the women 1,500 and 5,000 m.
