Head coach of the Russian national team Andrei Knyr said that the level of the World Cup in the absence of Russian athletes has decreased.

Russian lugers have been suspended from participating in international competitions due to the situation in Ukraine.

— All the strongest athletes gather here – more than 40 people – this is the entire elite of the Russian team. We are very serious and well prepared. There is no negativity in the fact that we are playing at home. We follow the international calendar and see how our colleagues behave abroad. We have big plans, we continue to actively develop in the country. Thanks to the federation and the president, a lot of money is invested in our sport.

There are contacts with foreign colleagues. Without Russia, Naturban suffered a very hard fall on the international scene. Russia was one of the strongest countries, second or third in the world. You can see how much the overall standard of the World Cup has dropped without us. Today, their situation is worse than us. They suffered more from Russia’s absence. We continue to develop, we have three tracks on which we successfully hold competitions. We have a good young generation growing up. Our federation has played a big role in the development of this sport around the world. Many problems were solved thanks to us – competitions were held in the center of Moscow, there was a huge positive effect. No other country has ever attracted so many spectators.
