President of the Russian Luge Federation Natalia Garth spoke about the upcoming luge and natural luge competitions in Russia.
The International Luge Federation (FIL) had previously suspended Russians from competitions under its auspices due to the situation in Ukraine.
— We are happy that sporting life continues, despite the absence of international competitions. Thank God we have a world-class track in Sochi, where we hold all-Russian competitions. Now the Spartakiad of the Strongest is planned, then the Russian Championship and, from March 15, the Spartakiad of Students.
Also from February 5 to 7 there will be a natural competition in Vorobyovy Gory on one of the best tracks in the country. The track is in good condition. All the specialists are on site, all the professionals, they have prepared the track. The start was weaker this year, the weather was good, we managed to get a bit of frost,” reports correspondent Garth.
The Winter Spartakiad of the Strongest will be held in several regions of Russia from February 9 to 18.
