Belarusian Olympic medalist Smolsky plans to participate in all races of the Spartakiad biathlon

Belarusian Olympic medalist Anton Smolski told that he plans to participate in all Spartakiad of the Fittest races, as he has fully recovered from his illness.

On Thursday, the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation introduced an addition to the regulations on holding the Spartakiad of the Strongest, according to which Belarusian athletes will be able to compete. Their results will be taken into account in the unofficial protocol without summarizing the general ranking of the teams based on the results of the Spartakiad competitions.

– I have already recovered. I train hard and get in shape. Fortunately, I had such a break, it had a positive effect on the body. I had the experience of last year, when a week and a half after the Tyumen stage I took off from Khanty-Mansiysk, and then I recovered for a very long time. I only recovered this summer, it was a very bad experience. It’s good that I didn’t start now after an illness. I feel good now, but we’ll go with how I feel. Let’s see how the body works. I intend to start all the Spartakiad races. I hope my inner strength and physical condition will allow me to do it, because I want to compete,” Smolsky told .

After winning three races at the Commonwealth Cup stage in Minsk, Smolsky missed the Russian Championship in Tchaikovsky and the Russian Cup stage in Izhevsk due to a viral infection. The Spartakiad biathlon will be held from February 10 to 18 in Zlatoust, Chelyabinsk region.
