Three-time biathlon world champion Ivan Cherezov spoke about the death of the ex-biathlete Igor Malinovsky .
On Sunday, the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) confirmed that Malinovsky died in a helicopter crash in Kamchatka. He was 25 years old.
– He is a guy from Kamchatka, especially since he loved the sky, he studied at the helicopter school. It is clear that it was his love, his passion, just like biathlon, probably. But in biathlon he showed excellent results as a junior. Well, and, probably, now he was drawn to the sky. In addition, the opportunity was to fly.
Such an open, bright guy with a beautiful smile. He was, in my opinion, the absolute world champion. Few of our biathletes can boast of such a result and such talent. He was the best junior in his life. Yeah, it didn’t work out in big sport. It’s a pity, of course, it’s an immense misfortune, a great sorrow. First of all, of course, for the family, for relatives and friends, and for us, for the world of biathlon, – RBC Sport quotes Cherezov.
