Olympic figure skating champion Alexei Yagudin declared the Winter Spartakiad of the strongest opening.
The opening ceremony of the competition will take place on Friday at the Chelyabinsk Traktor Arena.
The Spartakiad competitions began on February 8 and will end on the 18th. Competitions in 16 sports will be held in the Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk territories, as well as in the Tyumen, Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions. Russian and Belarusian athletes take part in the Spartakiad.
