Triple Olympic medalist biathlete Edward Latypov who won the sprint at the Spartakiade of the Strongest in Zlatoust, told that he does not yet feel light on the track, but that he shows good speed.
On Saturday, Latypov won the Spartakiad sprint with a penalty. Kirill Bazhin took second place and Daniil Serohvostov third.
— Today, at the top, there are, so to speak, no casual biathletes who have risen so high for the first time in their career. Does this mean that everyone took the Spartakiad extremely seriously?
— Spartakiad was announced as the main start of the season, so it is natural that everyone has good results, everyone is determined to win.
– Do you feel at the top of your form?
– No (laughs), today was hard. When I ask the guys, they notice that the track is not easy. The speed is good, but you are patient. There is no ease. Plus, it’s still cold.
— Can you get used to the cold during the season?
– No, you can’t get used to it. We can only be fed up with them,” Latypov told .
The Spartakiad biathlon tournament takes place from February 10 to 18.
