Russian national team biathlete Kirill Bajine told that national team athletes were preparing for Spartakiad in their regional teams.
Bajine became second in the Spartakiade of the Strongest sprint in Zlatoust on Saturday. Eduard Latypov won.
— How did you prepare for the Spartakiad?
— After Izhevsk, we climbed Seminski, which took us nine days. Then I stayed at home for several days, then from Yekaterinburg we drove to Zlatoust. We came here with a regional team.
— So you prepared the Spartakiad outside the national team, and each separately in the regions?
— Since the national team could not organize a training camp, Yuri Mikhailovich (Kaminsky) outlined everyone’s plans, who would go where. It turned out that Eduard (Latypov), Denis (Irodov) and Larisa (Kuklina) and I went to Seminsky. Yuri Mikhailovich came to see us, so we can say that we were under control.
— Why couldn’t the collection take place?
— These are some difficulties on the part of the DSP. The national team cannot organize a training camp, because we will be strong (laughs). What is the team for then? Not preparing for the main competitions? The team is judged on these starts. As everyone says, any mistake in training can lead to a mistake on the track and in your result,” Bazhin told .
The Spartakiad biathlon tournament takes place from February 10 to 18.
