Ukrainian biathlete Vitaly Mandzyn conquered silver V mass start for 60 participants on European Youth Championship 2024which took place in Polish Jakuszyce.
The Ukrainian made three mistakes during the race. At the finish, Vitaly lost 19 seconds to the winner Matia Legovich from Croatia.
Note that in the race itself, Mandzyn finished third, also after the Estonian biathlete Jakob Kulbin. However, the Estonian was subsequently disqualified because at the last shooting he fired six shots instead of the allowed five. Vitaly was awarded silver, Lukas Gaslinger from Austria received bronze.
Another Ukrainian, Sergei Suprun, took 13th place with four penalties. Stepan Kinash completed seven penalty laps and finished 35th.
Let us remind you that Ukrainians continue to compete at the 2024 Biathlon World Championships in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic. On Sunday the competition will feature pursuit races for men and women.
