On Monday, Kudisova took part in the 10-kilometer freestyle ski race at the Spartakiad of the Strongest in Tyumen. The athlete covered the distance in 27 minutes 55 seconds.
— Why aren’t you at the Spartakiade biathlon?
—I already said I couldn’t go. I would not like to discuss this. Let it stay as it is.
“You’re not going to reveal the details?”
– No. I don’t think it’s worth it.
— What goal did Artem Istomin set for the race?
– Work in circles. As there were two laps to go, the main task was to prepare for the second lap as efficiently as possible. But I wasn’t strong enough. I tried to do everything on the first one. It was a bit hard for me. I did everything I could. Artem Evgenievich set himself the task of working on his strengths and not emasculating himself during the first part of the distance.
— Is this your first competition with female skiers at this level?
– Yes. The Spartakiad is probably comparable to the Russian Championship. All the strongest athletes are here, all the fastest speeds and most ready people are here.
—Aren’t you surprised by the speed?
– Of course, I’m surprised. I understand that nothing is inaccessible. It would be interesting for me to dock with someone from the leaders and feel that speed, what makes them push so much, what is my disadvantage compared to the skiers. But unfortunately I didn’t have such an opportunity. During the mass start of the Russian Cup a week ago, I started at the end, here I started at the beginning. Unfortunately, we were unable to communicate with any of the leaders. I’m just pleasantly surprised by these speeds. It’s cool. It is worth acquiring such speeds and using them in biathlon races. That would be a good advantage.
— Can you compare ski and biathlon competitions in terms of atmosphere?
– In general, everything is equally cool. Winter skiing is very popular. A large number of fans. It’s incredibly enjoyable to watch this.
— You don’t want to go skiing?
– At that time, it was a happy coincidence that the coaches agreed to leave me for Spartakiad. But not yet. I have a great love for biathlon. I’m really looking forward to picking up a rifle and being able to shoot. I really like this sport. Ski racing, of course, is cool, but everyone has their own love, ”the correspondent reports, reporting Kudisova’s words.
The Spartakiade ski tournament takes place from February 9 to 18.
