The coach did not rule out holding biathlon competitions in memory of the late Malinovsky

In the future, it is possible to hold regular competitions in memory of biathlete Igor Malinovsky, who died in a plane crash, the former athlete’s personal trainer Zhadgir Makhambetov told .

After finishing his sports career, Malinovsky became a pilot and worked in Kamchatka. The five-time junior world champion died on July 16 in the crash of the helicopter he was piloting. The next day, the vehicle was found burnt out by Kamchatka rescuers. The Russian Emergencies Ministry confirmed that none of the passengers survived. Malinovsky was 25 years old.

– Unfortunately, I am in a training camp in Kazakhstan and I will not be able to attend Igor’s funeral. I spoke with my parents, the funeral is scheduled for July 20, but so far there are no forensic results.

In the future, it is possible that the Kamchatka Federation will do something, or that we will organize competitions, we will certainly organize something in the traditional way. We need to talk with the leaders of the federation, with the Ministry of Sports, with our school, but so far I don’t have details,” Makhambetov told .
