Olympic bronze medalist in biathlon Yevgeny Garanichev said that at 36 years old he feels young and that his coaches are constantly pushing him forward.
On Tuesday, Garanichev turned 36 years old. On his birthday, the biathlete took 12th place in the pursuit race at the Spartakiad of the Strongest in Zlatoust with a penalty.

– I’m not ordering anything. As soon as my health allows, I will run.

— You reminded me earlier, but I don’t feel like I’m 36. It’s not an age, it’s just the beginning. The most important thing is health. There’s still gunpowder, so I’m running around and participating. I like this.

— I remember myself at 20. But I enjoy life.
— Many athletes cannot end their career because they do not know what to do next.

On February 13, 2014, Garanichev became a bronze medalist at the Sochi Olympics in the individual race. This medal was the only one for the Russian biathlon team in personal disciplines.
