The French women’s team won the Biathlon World Cup relay for the first time in its history

The French biathlon team won the women’s relay at the World Championships taking place in Nove Mesto (Czech Republic).

The French team was represented by Lou Jeanmonnot, Sophie Chauveau, Justine Brezat-Boucher and Julia Simon. They clocked 1 hour 15 minutes 0.8 seconds, using 11 extra laps and running two penalty loops. Second place went to the Swedish team (+38.3; 12 additional laps, 1 penalty loop), third place was completed by the German team (+1.14.2; 9 additional laps).

For the French women’s team, this victory is the first in history at the world relay racing championships.

Russian biathletes are not participating in the World Championships due to events in Ukraine.
