Governor of Primorsky Krai Oleg Kozhemyako announced the opening of the first international winter sports games “Children of Primorye”.

The ceremony takes place at the Fetisov Arena in Vladivostok. The Russian flag was carried at the opening ceremony by Olympic figure skating champion Adelina Sotnikova, Olympic short track speed skating champion Ruslan Zakharov and Olympic cross-country skiing medalist Alexander Bessmertnykh.

There will be 31 sets of awards in eight sports: alpine skiing, curling, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, figure skating, short track speed skating, ice hockey and physical hockey. The games will last until February 23.
