The coach of the Russian national team, Olympic champion in short track speed skating, Vladimir Grigoriev, believes that the International Skating Union (ISU) is not yet ready to take measures to return Russians to the international scene.
Earlier, President of the Russian Skating Union Nikolai Gulyaev said that at the March meeting of the ISU Council the issue of Russians returning to competitions at the international level would not be discussed.
“We understand that as long as the SVO is ongoing, no one will consider anything. I think the people there don’t object to what we’re talking about, but politically there’s nothing they can do. At the end of the SVO there will be some kind of conversation,” Grigoriev told .
Russian short track skaters have been suspended from international competition due to the situation in Ukraine.
