Italian biathlete Lisa Vittozzi won the pursuit race at the ninth stage of the World Cup in Canmore, Canada.
Vitozzi, starting from first position, committed a penalty on four shooting stages and covered the 10 km in 28 minutes 15.9 seconds. The second was Frenchwoman Lou Jeanmonnot with the second starting number (3 misses; lag – 12.2 seconds), the top three was closed by her compatriot Justine Brezaz-Boucher from France, who started eighth (3 misses; + 19.4 seconds).
After winning the last pursuit of the season, Vittozzi became the owner of the small crystal globe in the pursuit competition. Based on the results of seven starts, the Italian scored 398 points. Second place was taken by Frenchwoman Julia Simon (384), and third by Jeanmonneau (378).
The Canmore World Cup ends on Sunday.
