Pashchenko – about money from the Czech Republic: “In the context of what happened, everything else is just the little things of life”

Biathlete Pierre Pachchenko on , he expressed his condolences to the families of those killed in the terrorist attack on Crocus Town Hall, emphasizing that against the backdrop of the tragedy, everything else no longer matters.

On Monday, the men’s sprint took place at the Alfa-Bank Russian Biathlon Championships in Tyumen, where Pashchenko won the silver medal. Karim Khalili won, the first three were closed by Ilnaz Mukhamedzyanov. The race began with a minute of silence in memory of those killed in the terrorist attack in the Moscow region. On the evening of March 22, terrorists opened fire on the Crocus Town Hall in Krasnogorsk, near Moscow. According to the latest data from the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, 137 people died as a result of the attack.

— Of course, given the unstable season, we can count this race as an asset. Worked well. In general, I would like to say that against the background of what happened to us, everything else consists of little things in life. We should be happy to be here. On behalf of myself and our team, I would like to express my condolences to my loved ones and wish good health to those who suffered [во время теракта].

—Where did you find such strength for the last round?

— We have already done a brief analysis with the service. In principle, those who started strong made a big mistake. There was a feeling that our team’s equipment wasn’t working very well, but then, after talking with all the athletes, I realized that everyone had the same image. The first lap the gear was more or less working, but with each lap the skis started picking up dirt and it got worse and worse. I can’t say the track was broken, but there was more moisture and the sliding got worse.

— How do you explain the mistakes of leaders?

“As the glide isn’t very good, someone may have been too muscular. This caused tremors and some athletes simply couldn’t cope. “Someone may not have coped well psychologically,” Pashchenko said on the channel.

The women’s sprint will take place later on Monday. Watch the live broadcast from 11:35 Moscow time on the and Match Arena channels, as well as on the sites sportbox.ru and matchtv.ru.
