Biathlete Anastasia Batmanova told that the support of her father Yuri Batmanov and husband Vasily Tomshin helped her win the 100-meter prologue of the Alfa-Bank Russian Cup in Tyumen.
Batmanova, who plays for the Chuck-Chuck Norris team, finished in the final with a result of 13.38 seconds. Second place went to Irina Kazakevich (“One Right”), losing in the final by 0.82 seconds. Third place went to Kristina Reztsova (“The Kings of the Quiet Hour”).
— During the entire prologue season, we each have the opportunity to participate only four times: two in shooting, two in the 100 meters. This was my fourth time, and before that I had been eliminated three times in the first round. This time, I was already ready to face the difficulties. Again, besides, I started first, I had to navigate where it was soft and where it was hard on the track. I was very happy to have reached the semi-finals. I remembered what time I finished the first round, so I looked to see who was leaving and how. I understood that everything is possible, the main thing is just not to break the stick and not to miss the start. Well, it was dad who supported me there. “Naasstya!” ” – He shouted. The support of my father and my husband was very important. I am glad that I managed to bring pleasant emotions to my father, he stood here with great interest. I’m glad he came to see my performance live, and also that he didn’t attend those prologues where I made mistakes (laughs).
— Was it difficult to start the race, because the snow is not the most pleasant?
— Yes, very interesting conditions. Let’s remember Ufa, how ideal it was there. Today, it was difficult, and at each start, the track died down. You can also get used to one target and be sent to another. It’s good that I always ran on one side,” Batmanova told .
Prologue – competitions that precede the main program of the Alfa-Bank Commonwealth Cup, Championship and Cup of Russia. Biathletes representing four teams compete. At each individual stage, the winners of the competition receive 50, 40 and 30 thousand rubles and credit points, respectively.
