Presenter and commentator at Dmitry Guberniev said the Olympic bronze medalist in biathlon Yevgeny Garanichev is an athlete who will forever remain in his heart.
On Thursday, Garanichev and Victoria Slivko won the mixed singles at the Alfa-Bank Russian Championship in Tyumen. Earlier in March it became known that the current season was the last in the career of the 36-year-old biathlete.
– Garanichev – well done! A very touching story, his parents rewarded him and were on the pedestal. I know he helps young athletes, we can only admire Evgeniy. 36 years old, national champion, it’s wonderful! Maybe Evgeny will win relay gold again. Garanichev is an athlete who will forever remain in my heart,” Guberniev told the correspondent.
Garanichev has repeatedly become the winner and prize-winner of the World and European Cups, Championships and Cups of Russia.
