President of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBR) Viktor Maygurov said he was ready to invite Olympic bronze medalist Evgeny Garanichev to the national team to train athletes.
On Sunday, the Tyumen region team, which includes Garanichev, won the men’s relay at the Alfa-Bank Russian Biathlon Championship. Earlier, the 36-year-old announced that he would retire at the end of the season.

Garanichev played for the Russian national team starting in the 2010/11 season, making his World Cup debut in 2011 at the Anterselva Stadium, Italy. In 2014, he won a bronze medal in the individual race at the Olympic Games in Sochi and became a three-time European champion.
