Ex-skier Grukhvina talks about the Uvat marathon: “I know this distance very well”

Former skier Anna Grukhvina who is spending her first season after switching to biathlon, believes that long distances are familiar to her, but at the Uvat marathon, athletes from the top 10 of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBR) will have good chances.

On Friday, Grukhvina will take part in the 30-kilometer biathlon marathon as part of the Alfa-Bank Russian Championship in Uvat, Tyumen region.

— Would it be correct to say that Grukhvina will have an advantage over other biathletes in the marathon due to her skiing experience?

— I’m probably familiar with this distance, but the girls in the top 10 have probably done different marathons, so everyone has experience.

— Do you remember the number of firing lines?

– Yes: four “beds” and four “stands”.

— Isn’t this amount of shooting frightening?

– No, we are training and we are shooting more.

— During a marathon, an athlete has a lot of time to think differently. What are the most interesting thoughts that came to you during marathons?

– Yes, indeed, but everything depends on the state: what it is, such are the thoughts. There will be time to think. Everything should go smoothly, because no one will run faster from the start due to the difficult condition of the track,” Grukhvina told .
