“The track in Uvat is better than in Tyumen: there is no such “mess” here – biathlete Bazhin

Russian national team biathlete Kirill Bajin told that the conditions on the Uvat track, where the marathons will be held, are better than they were at the Tyumen stadium.

On Thursday, Bazhin will take part in the 40-kilometer biathlon marathon as part of the Alfa-Bank Russian Championship in Uvat (Tyumen region). Previously, the main program of the competition was held in Tyumen.

— The marathon is the same competition as the other races, so I wanted to take part in it, to feel this vacation. Everyone says, “Lots of running, lots of running,” but in March we had almost three weeks off, so I want to run and run. And in general, every year the season goes faster and faster.

— Are you mentally ready for 40 kilometers?

— Yes, I have already run biathlon marathons. We also have long training sessions during the season, when you ride for three hours, then you ride 50 kilometers, but it’s not that often.

— What are the conditions on the track?

— Actually, it’s easier than in Tyumen. There was worse “mush”. Here, in an hour and a half of training, there is not such a deep ‘mess’ that you would fail too much,” Bazhin told .
