Biathlete Burtasova: “I’m not finishing my career, but I’m selling my skis to buy new ones”

Quadruple European champion biathlete Evgenia Burtasova told that she did not want to make any assumptions about her performance next season, but that she had no plans to end her career.

Burtasova is 30 years old. At the Alfa-Bank Russian Championship in Tyumen, she took second place in the mixed relay as part of the Novosibirsk region team. The biathlete missed most of this season.

— I will not fly to Murmansk, because there will only be “gathering” there, and I had not planned to do that. My task was to work at the Russian Championship, then we would prepare. This season I have been very ill, so I just want nothing to happen and I can prepare calmly (for next season).

— How often do you plan to perform next season?

— I won’t make wishes like last year (laughs)! Then I planned to participate the whole season, but it didn’t work out. God bless me and everything will be fine. I won’t make any guesses, but I’m not finishing and I’m selling my skis to buy new ones (laughs), Burtasova told .

On Thursday, a 40-kilometer men’s marathon will take place in Uvat as part of the Alfa-Bank Russian Championship. Watch the live broadcast of the race on the channel from 07:35 (Moscow time). You can also follow the marathon on the websites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
