On April 4 and 5, men’s and women’s marathons were held in Uvat, Tyumen region, as part of the Alfa-Bank Russian Championship. The main program of the tournament took place in Tyumen.
— I don’t want to offend Uvat, but some cities may be more comfortable in terms of accommodation and conditions at the stadium. Was it possible to organize these two marathons while staying in Tyumen? And is there an element of corruption in the choice of locations?
— No, there is no element of corruption in the choice of locations. As for the marathons, I can now say in hindsight that Tyumen could not have hosted these races, because the snow there was very actively melting. But that is not the question, Uvat is a historical place. I would love to stay in Tyumen, but we cannot abandon the complexes, we need to hold competitions as everywhere as possible. And no one came here, not because it is such a terrible Uvat, but because here you have to run a marathon, ”Pak told .
